The questions students ask before they book.
Getting started
Which ADMS courses do you cover?
We focus on six core ADMS courses: 2320 (Business Statistics), 2500 (Financial Accounting), 2510 (Management Accounting), 3530 (Finance), 3351 (Operations Management), and 3330 (Management Science). Each course has a dedicated specialist tutor who teaches it every term.
How do I find the right tutor for my course?
Text the tutor from any page. Send your course code and what kind of help you need — your message goes straight to the tutor who teaches that course. No browsing profiles, no comparing ratings.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Yes. We offer both online (Zoom or equivalent) and in-person sessions in the Toronto / York University area. In-person sessions have a two-hour minimum.
How quickly can I book a session?
Most students hear back within a few hours. Same-day and next-day sessions are often possible, especially for online slots. We do our best during exam season — book earlier when you can.
Can I book close to a midterm or final?
Yes. Many students book during exam season. If your test is close, send the course code, test date, and topics you need help with so we can recommend the most realistic use of time.
How do I know how many hours I need?
Text the tutor or start with a single session. After seeing where you are in the course, we can recommend whether one session, two hours, or a package makes sense.
Pricing & packages
How much does tutoring cost?
Online sessions start at $80/hour, and in-person sessions start at $90/hour. Multi-hour packages bring the per-hour rate down — 10-hour online packages work out to $70/hour. See the Pricing page for the full breakdown.
Do I have to commit to a package?
No. You can start with a single one-hour online session if you want to try it. Most students who book a package do so after their first session.
How long are package hours valid?
Package hours don't expire mid-term. Use them across the semester at whatever pace works for you.
Are there refunds?
Unused package hours are refundable on request. Completed sessions are not. Cancellations made at least 24 hours before a scheduled session are not charged.
How sessions work
What should I bring to a session?
Bring the course materials you're working through — lecture slides, the textbook chapter, the assignment or past exam, and any specific questions you've been stuck on. The more concrete your starting point, the faster the session moves.
Can you help with assignments?
Yes — we work through problem-solving approaches, conceptual explanations, and worked examples alongside you. We don't complete graded work for students, but we will absolutely help you understand it well enough to do it yourself.
Do you help with graded assignments?
We help you understand the concepts and problem-solving process. We do not complete graded work for students.
Can we do exam prep right before the final?
Yes, and it's one of the most common reasons students book. We recommend booking 1–2 weeks before the final so we have time to cover the material properly, not just skim it.
Do you provide notes after the session?
Yes. You'll typically leave with worked-problem notes from the session itself plus a clear plan for what to study next.
About ADMSTUTOR
Are you affiliated with York University?
No. ADMSTUTOR is an independent tutoring service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by York University. All course names and codes are property of York University and used for identification only.
How long have you been doing this?
Fifteen years of full-time tutoring with York ADMS students, across thousands of sessions. We've taught the same courses long enough to know exactly where students get stuck — and how to get them unstuck.
Do you only work with ADMS students?
ADMS students are our specialty. We occasionally take on students from other Schulich and Lassonde courses when topic overlap is high, but the website, materials, and tutors are built around ADMS.
Still have a question?
Text the tutor and we'll work through it together. Most students hear back within a few hours.
